The HEUER short-stroke module provides a real increase in productivity. Without using the spindle spanner, small clamping distances of up to and large workpieces of 5 mm can be completed simply by using the foot pedal. And this applies to both clamping and unclamping.

The HEUER short-stroke module is designed as an accessory for HEUER vices. It consists of a special spindle, the hydraulic module for the spindle head, a hydraulic hose and a hydraulic foot pump with two pedals - one for clamping with a large lever and a slightly smaller one for releasing. The way it works is as simple as it is ingenious: The HEUER short-stroke module utilises the spring travel of the compression spring in the precision spindle bearing. This is approx. 5 mm. The ‘play’ is used by the hydraulic module on the spindle head to push the front jaw towards the rear jaw without turning the spindle. The HEUER short-stroke module can thus build up a pressure of over 5 tonnes! When the ‘release’ pedal is pressed, the hydraulic pressure is released and the compression spring pushes the jaws apart again. The spindle and vice can still be operated by hand after the upgrade. Thanks to the threaded ends on the spindle spanner, it can be removed if it gets in the way when working on the vice with the short-stroke module. With the HEUER short-stroke module, hands remain free and the time for clamping and unclamping the workpiece can be significantly reduced. Even with bulky or heavy workpieces that require both hands for clamping, the HEUER short-stroke module replaces the ‘third hand’ that would otherwise be required for clamping with the spindle.
