PFERD offers a wide range of coated abrasive tools for processing different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a carrier material, a base bond and a cover bond to fix the abrasive grains. Depending on the grain size, coated abrasive tools can achieve a high material removal or a very fine surface finish. The carrier materials available differ in their properties such as tear resistance, flexibility and wear. By choosing the appropriate backing, the grinding tool is adapted to the requirements of the intended application: paper is used in the woodworking industry and in trades, e.g. by carpenters, painters and varnishers, fabric is mainly used in metalworking, and vulcanized fiber is very wear-resistant and is used in different thicknesses primarily for the manufacture of fiber sanders. The set contains an application-oriented selection of fiber sanders for aggressive grinding with the highest removal rate on hard, poorly heat-conducting materials. Consistent top performance thanks to self-sharpening ceramic grain. Grinding additives in the coating achieve a significantly higher removal rate, prevent clogging and result in cooler grinding.
