The shanks of grinding and milling tools are lengthened with extensions for drive spindles. They can be used in hard-to-reach places and are clamped into the collet of the machine (compressed air or electric drive) or into the handpiece of the flexible shaft. Extensions for drive spindles are an economical alternative to custom-made burrs and mounted points with long shanks. Safety note: Caution! When using spindle extensions, the applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations must be observed. When working with long shanks, it is essential to insert the tool into the workpiece (e.g. bores, pipes, channels or grooves) before switching on the drive machine. Under no circumstances may the extension run free with a tool outside the workpiece. Failure to do so increases the risk of accidents! Under unfavorable general conditions, there is the possibility of the extension snapping off with the clamped tool. The extension is only suitable for manual use in conjunction with suitable compressed air, electric drives or flexible shaft handpieces for tools with standard shanks. It is placed in the non-impact collet of the devices in conjunction with a tool that is approved for the speed. Under no circumstances should it be clamped on the transition radius. Clamping a second extension or tools with oversized shanks is prohibited.
