The rotational viscometer has a measuring range of 1 ... 100,000 cp. With an accuracy of <±2 % v. Mb., the rotational viscometer is a precise measuring instrument for determining the viscosity of a sample liquid. The rotational viscometer determines the viscosity based on the applied mechanical resistance, which acts in the opposite direction to the rotational movement of a spindle.
The rotational viscometer can be operated at an adjustable speed in the range between 6 ... 60 RPM. Many fluids are subjected to thermal stress and therefore change their viscosity, such as engine oils. This is exactly where the stand viscometer comes into play. With an immersion temperature sensor (optional), the temperature of a test specimen can be determined between 0 ... 100 °C during the measurement.
To obtain a history of the measurement, the rotational viscometer can be connected to a PC via the RS232 interface. With the optional software, a temperature and viscosity curve can then be generated during a measurement. To ensure that the measuring spindle is always vertically positioned in the medium to be measured, the rotational viscometer can be leveled via the feet. A spirit level is located on the rotational viscometer to check for correct alignment. At the same time, the test fixture can be adjusted in height by 25 cm from the rotational viscometer as a whole to position the spindle appropriately.
